FAQ

Trial, warranty, certifications and the questions support gets asked most.

How long should each session be?+

For most people, 10 to 20 minutes per area is a good baseline, 3 to 5 times a week. Beginners can start with 5 to 10 minutes and build up. Consistency matters more than duration: a short session you keep beats a long occasional one. The dose figures are detailed on how it works.

How far should I sit from a panel device?+

Between 15 and 30 cm for our panels (DESK, PANO PLUS, PANO ULTRA): that is where the device delivers peak irradiance. If you feel too much warmth, move back — it stays worthwhile up to about 50 cm. Worn devices, cap and mask, are designed for direct skin contact and remove the question entirely.

Can I use it every day?+

Yes for most people: red and near-infrared light is non-thermal, non-ionising and UV-free. Three to five sessions a week is what the published protocols use, and doing more does not improve the result. The precautions — pregnancy, photosensitising medication, photosensitive epilepsy — are detailed on how it works.

Which devices include the Bluetooth app?+

The DESK, PANO PLUS and PANO ULTRA panels pair with the Antared app (iOS and Android) over Bluetooth 5.0: adjust each wavelength, set timers, use preset modes and configure pulsing. The rest of the range is controlled directly on the device, with no app and no account to create.

What is the difference between red and near-infrared light?+

The depth reached. Red (590 to 660 nm) works in the surface layers of the skin; near-infrared (810 to 940 nm) goes further, down to the muscle and joint plane. That is why a mask and a full-body panel do not carry the same nanometres. The spectrum-by-spectrum detail is on wavelengths.

Do these devices produce heat or UV radiation?+

No Antared device emits ultraviolet: the shortest spectrum in the range is a 460 nm blue, and UV stops at 400 nm. You may feel a mild warmth at close range, which comes from the LEDs themselves. The Sauna Dome is the exception: its adjustable infrared heat is a dedicated feature, not a side effect.

Can I use it through clothing?+

Bare skin is better. Most fabrics absorb or scatter part of the light, so they reduce the dose you receive. Thin, light-coloured clothing lets some near-infrared through, but the result is noticeably reduced — and the dose becomes impossible to estimate, which is precisely what you are trying to control.

What is included in the 14-day trial?+

You can try any Antared device at home for 14 days. If it does not fit your week, contact support to arrange a return under the store policy. It is the only test that really counts: a device you do not use has an efficacy of zero, whatever its nanometres.

What warranty is included?+

Every Antared device carries a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects and hardware failures. It applies across the whole range, regardless of price or format.

Are Antared devices certified?+

They are CE certified and listed with the FDA. One clarification that matters: an FDA listing is not a marketing authorisation and amounts to no validation of efficacy — it is a registration formality. Our devices are wellness products: they do not diagnose, treat or cure any disease.

How long before I see results?+

It depends what you are measuring. For performance, trials measure from the very next session when the light comes before the effort. For skin, the reference trial measures after 30 sessions; for hair, after 16 weeks. Judge over several weeks, never on one session, and be sceptical of any brand promising a result in a week.

Which device is right for me?+

It depends on the area you want to light and the moment you will actually keep the session. The six-question quiz answers in a minute; the protocols start from a moment in your week, and by goal starts from what you are after.
